Hair Design taken as a stand-alone program is 1168 clock hours in length.
Depending upon your schedule and attendance, it takes approximately 7 months to complete.
- Hair Design can also be taken in combination with Esthetics and Nail Technology in a 1893 clock hour program.*

Your 1,168-Hour Hair Design Journey
As a student in our Hair Design program, you’ll spend 1,168 hours developing your skills in hair design. Throughout your training, you’ll get to explore a wide variety of services, including wet and thermal styling, chemical waving and straightening, hair coloring and haircutting. Along the way, you’ll also learn the essential principles of infection control, equipment safety, and state laws—giving you the confidence to work safely and professionally.
Hands-On Learning Meets Real-World Experience
You won’t just study theory—you’ll practice every technique through hands-on training. Much of your education focuses on the exciting world of hair coloring and cutting, while also giving you a strong foundation in all other core services. Your learning will come to life in our busy student salon, where you’ll work directly with diverse guests. This is your chance to refine your technical and communication skills while building the confidence to succeed with real clients.

Your training includes access to Pivot Point LAB online learning platform – and internationally recognized interactive curriculum. You’ll also work learn life skills, based on Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. You’ll work on building a professional resume, practice your interviewing skills, and get full support for your state board preparation and job search. Plus, financial aid is available for those who qualify.
